CAPEX in the absolute indoor court in Madrid

From February 17 to 19, the Spanish Absolute Individual Championship will be held on the indoor track of the Gallur complex in Madrid and will be broadcast live by TDP.

CAPEX goes with five athletes from the Honor Division men’s team to the most important event of the winter, which will also be definitive for the classification of the Spanish team for the European Championships to be held in Istanbul (Turkey) at the beginning of March.

In the speed test par excellence on deck, the 60 m dash, Miguel Izquierdo will participate, debuting in the absolute category, seeking first the semifinals against a demanding list of entrants.

Looking for the final, our couple of finalists return in the Sub 23 recently held in Antequera in the 800 m dash test, with Raul Villalonga and David Barroso, who will fight with world-class rivals led by Mariano García or Adrián Ben.

In the 1500 m dash, Andrés Serrano once again appears in a Spanish championship of this importance, thereby consolidating himself in the category at the national level, seeking to make a leap in his level this season.

And finally, fighting with international stars of the event such as Asier Martínez or Quique Llopis, our athlete Gonzalo Sabin fully enters the Spanish elite of the 60 m v.

It’s a shame that Diego Rosalén is out of the pole vault final after a great 2022 season and also that of the sprinter Óscar Caicedo with discomfort in his hamstrings after a great winter where he has recorded the mark of 6’82. That is, there could have been 7 CAPEX athletes present.

CAPEX attends these Absolute Spanish Indoor Championships to support the athletes under the technical direction of José Ángel Rama.
