The Ensemble Eutherpe won the IV ‘José Gámez’ Chamber Music Competition at the Joaquín Turina space in Seville. Among the members is Alejandro Martín from Llerena. The group performed works by Ligeti, Bozza and Julio Medaglia.
The Eutherpe Quintet was born in 2016 when a group of wind instrument students came together to teach Chamber Music classes at the “Manuel Castillo” Superior Conservatory of Music in Seville. Their musical interests led them to continue with the group outside the Conservatory environment. They met periodically to continue rehearsing works together for the group.
Ensemble Eutherpe, after its short career, won 3rd prize in the III “José Gámez” Chamber Music Competition of the Superior Conservatory of Seville in April 2017. They have performed at the “Francisco Guerrero” Professional Conservatory of Seville and at the School of Coria Music. Alberto Barea required the presence of the Quintet for the interpretation of his work ‘Legends of Seville: The Head of King Don Pedro’.
The XXII Early Music Series in Santiponce was attended by the Quintet. They also offer a concert at the Santo Tomás convent in Seville, organized by the Ateneo Hispalense e Iberoamericano and at the “Verbo” Bookstore in Seville.
